STRATON AUTOMATION achieves IEC 61850 Edition 2 Amendment 1 Client – Level A Certification
STRATON AUTOMATION is proud to announce the official certification of its IEC 61850 client communication stack, integrated into the straton runtime, in accordance with IEC 61850 Edition 2 Amendment 1, Level A.
The certification was granted by the UCA International Users Group (UCAIug), with testing performed by DNV, a globally recognized authority in testing and certification for mission-critical systems.
Certification scope
The IEC 61850 client stack embedded in straton has been certified for the following parts of the standard:
- IEC 61850-6 (Substation Configuration Language – SCL)
- IEC 61850-7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4 (information models and services)
- IEC 61850-8-1 (MMS communication)
The tests were conducted on a Brodersen RTU32M model with MP32A module, running straton runtime version 1601.51104 with client system’s protocol.
A recognition of compliance and technological maturity
Achieving Level A, the highest level within the IEC 61850 certification process, confirms that the straton IEC 61850 stack is fully compliant with the standard, interoperable, and suitable for critical power grid and energy infrastructure applications.
