A new ladder editor (LD) is available. This alternative introduces new features to allow you to draw relay diagrams in the form you think best suits your project. In addition to the recent implementation of new shortcuts to provide a more versatile LD editor, a new way to program your ladder logic has been introduced: Free Form Ladder. It allows you to draw your ladder diagram freely without having to place elements on the same columns or rows. Ladder Diagram The Ladder Diagram language is one of the 5 languages of the IEC61131-3 standard. It is popular with automation specialists for programming industrial programmable controllers such as straton. The LD language has the particularity to be easily understandable. Ladder Editor A Ladder Editor was already available in the straton software. For more readability the existing editor uses a “grid” for the placement of the different elements of your program (contacts, coils, function blocks…).
