STRATON AUTOMATION is proud to announce the launch of version 15.0 of its straton software, an update that marks an important milestone in the field of industrial automation. This new version offers innovative features to meet the growing needs of industry professionals.
IEC61131-10 compliance
With straton V15.0, we are introducing full support for IEC 61131-10, which provides a standardised XML schema for import/export of automation applications. This major advance strengthens interoperability and facilitates exchanges between different tools and suppliers.
- Enhanced interoperability: IEC 61131-10 ensures standardised exchange of complete projects or individual POUs between different automation environments.
- Extended compatibility: This functionality is ideal for large companies operating in demanding sectors such as energy and manufacturing.
- Future Vision: As a pioneer in the adoption of this standard, straton is ready to support its partners in the transition to full interoperability.
Compliance with industry standards
STRATON AUTOMATION remains committed to compliance with industry standards, guaranteeing compatible and scalable solutions. By adopting the export model defined by IEC 61131-10, we ensure an import-export system that complies exclusively with the functionalities and syntaxes described in IEC 61131-3.
This enables a high level of interoperability by facilitating the exchange of POUs with other suppliers and tools that also comply with this standard.
IEC61131-10 & PLC OPEN TC6
Exporting and importing POUs in XML format is nothing new. PLC OPEN, the organisation promoting IEC 61131, was already proposing the TC6 method, which has been widely adopted by many PLC players, including straton.
However, although similar, IEC 61131-10 and TC6 present differences which do not allow total interoperability between the two formats. STRATON AUTOMATION remains attentive to the evolution of these standards in order to offer its users maximum compatibility.
A growing standard
IEC 61131-10 is still in its infancy, with the final version due in 2019. Its mass adoption in industry is still in progress, but many applications are beginning to emerge, going beyond the simple transfer of applications between different PLC manufacturers. This standard is gradually establishing itself as a benchmark for expressing automation logic in various industrial sectors.
Aware of this potential, STRATON AUTOMATION provides its customers with the tools they need to follow market developments and take advantage of the new opportunities offered by IEC 61131-10.
With straton V15.0, STRATON AUTOMATION continues to innovate to offer its customers high-performance solutions ready for the future of automation.
