Automation software for the energy and utilities sectors
In order to meet the growing demand for information in the energy sector, major market actors such as power plants and electrical substations require increasingly complex protocols and control applications. All primary and secondary equipment, such as electrical transformers, electrical autotransformers or high-voltage circuit breakers are concerned.
straton : a software dedicated to the Energy and Utilities market
Automation systems must provide more and more information to the control room and other management systems. In order to provide access between systems and components, a number of standards have been developed: DNP3, IEC 60870-101, IEC 60870-104, IEC 61850 and IEC 61400.
straton is compatible with these standards to enable you a quick integration using a proven and certified solution. In addition, our protocols integrate the support of the latest developments related to cybersecurity (IEC 62443 and IEC 62351).
STRATON AUTOMATION provides not only the IEC 61850 protocol stack, but also the configuration and debugging tools that enable RTU manufacturers to quickly develop a new generation of products:
- IEC 61850-6 SCL Editor
- IEC 61850 Client and server
- IEC 61850-7-410/420 and IEC 61400 Logic nodes
- IEC 61850 Customer test tool.
Tools to reduce programming and configuration time
IEC 61131-3 is an international reference standard that defines programming languages for automation applications. straton provides a user-friendly environment for this type of development.
The straton editor includes numerous function block libraries to facilitate and reduce programming time.
The IEC 61131 automatic project generator, the import tools and/or the application generator are essential tools for a fast and reliable development of your application. These functions can easily be integrated into straton to provide a smooth user interface.
Ensure application redundancy and security
Safety and reliability are the key issues in energy distribution. RTUs and BCUs need to provide a simple mean for application security and redundancy. With straton, users can configure their applications to operate in redundant mode with just a few clicks.
Brodersen has developed a series of RTU32 products incorporating straton technology. For many years now, the company has taken advantage of COPA-DATA’s excellent power driver stacks for the integration of the IEC 61850 protocol – the global standard for communication in power generation and distribution.
“We were already using the straton Runtime as the PLC core in our RTU32 series, and the integration of the IEC61850 standard took only a few days!”Read more
