In response to the digital transformation of power systems and the associated challenges, GE has leveraged its experience to create Advanced Automation Applications (AAA). Advanced Automation Applications offerings strengthen gateways, industrial systems, and substations in both indoor and outdoor power systems, making grids safer, more resilient, and more intelligent. With Advanced Automation Applications products, GE provides flexible solutions to meet the demands of ever-changing applications without hardware limitations.
GE VERNOVA designed the engine for the GPG software platform. The IEC 61131-1 compliant Logic Box, integrated into GPG Gateway, facilitates logic customization using the IEC 61850 SCL editor integrated into the straton editor. GE VERNOVA has been using straton in the field of power transmission and distribution for 10 years now.
The GE Power Gateway (GPG) hardware platform is a key offering in the AAA domain, providing a reliable, powerful and scalable platform. The logic box supports the 5 programming languages of the IEC 61131-3 standard :
- Sequential Function chart (SFC)
- Function Block Diagram (FBD)
- Ladder Diagram (LD)
- Structured text (ST)
- Instruction List (IL)
